Absolute Mag™ CAN-Fe2O3 Magnetic Nanoparticles, 40 nm (# CAN-FN01) are generated by the reaction of Fe2O3 magnetite nanoparticles and a strong mono-electronic oxidant CAN (Ceric Ammonium Nitrate, CeIV(NH4)2(NO3)6), where CAN acts as a Ce donor. The CAN-Fe2O3 is highly stable aqueous suspensions/ferrofluids due to Ce3/4+ cation coordinative chemistries on the surface. The outer layer of particle has a COOH shell can make it compatible with biomolecules. It has been innovatively applied in gene silencing together with MRI tracking features. PDI is about 0.186.
