Absolute Mag™ Carboxyl Magnetic Particles, Cross-linked, Ferromagnetic(WHM-S007)

Absolute Mag™ Carboxyl Magnetic Particles, Cross-linked, Ferromagnetic (# WHM-S007) contain carboxylic acid groups which can be used for carbodiimide activation (e.g. EDC) for covalent coupling and are coated with cross-linked polymer on the surfaces of iron oxide crystals to render them resistant to common organic solvents. These particles retain magnetism once exposed to a magnetic field and have been used for magnetic twisting cytometry, microfluidics, and cellular labeling due to their higher magnetic moment than paramagnetic particles.

Application Notes
Ferromagnetic particles have been used for studying mechanotransduction across the cell surface and through the cytoskelaton. This is performed by binding them to cell surface receptors and applying mechanical stress directly to the receptor using a device to twist the magnetic particle.
